Co- Founder and CEO
Lee learnt his trade in direct marketing working for a TV network with channels on the Sky digital platform. Developing a curiosity and passion for emerging online technologies, trends and particularly social media platforms such as Myspace and Facebook he soon moved into digital marketing roles in the online retail and automotive industries.
After helping drive social media strategies for one of Europe’s leading car dealerships, Lee saw an opportunity in the automotive review and classified sector for a more 'social' experience for car buyers and sellers. After successful meetings with some private angel investors he eventually secured funding to get Carhoots.com off the ground along with business partner and childhood friend James Waddington.
Co-Founder and CMO
James graduated from Durham University with a combined degree in Geography & Politics. He then went on to complete a Masters in Business and Finance at Durham Business School which led to a finance role at a top wealth management firm. During this time James saw the opportunities in the expanding online and social media market and in 2011 formed Carhoots.com with friend Lee Malcher.
